How it works: one loop around both legs
The recommended structure is one continuous adjustable loop. The wide elastic webbing passes across the front of both thighs, goes down along the outer sides, and returns underneath the thighs. The buckle stays at the front so the user can adjust and release it easily.
The strap should not attach to the seat, armrest, or seat belt. It should feel lightly supportive, not restrictive.
Key specs: width, light stretch, quick release
| Width | Start with 38 mm and 50 mm samples. A 50 mm strap spreads pressure better and looks more finished for a main product. |
|---|---|
| Elasticity | Use stable, moderate elastic recovery. The strap should be slightly taut without leaving strong pressure marks. |
| Buckle | Use a low-profile quick-release buckle or flat buckle at the front center for easy release. |
| Length | Use an adjustable loop. Final sizing should be corrected through seated tests. |
| Ends | Folded sewing, soft binding, or a keeper loop can keep the loose tail clean and reduce snagging. |
Sampling checks before production
Sampling should be tested in a real seated posture. Build both 38 mm and 50 mm versions first, then check tension, buckle position, underside loop path, and loose-tail control.
- The loop should clearly pass underneath both thighs.
- The strap should feel lightly taut but still easy to release.
- The buckle should not feel bulky or catch clothing.
- The strap should fold neatly into a small travel pouch.
Usage notes should be short and clear
Packaging can state: use only during calm seated periods; remove during takeoff, landing, turbulence, leaving the seat, or crew instructions; loosen immediately if there is numbness, coldness, tingling, or discomfort.

Ask About Travel Support StrapsFAQ
Is this a finished product or a webbing component?
It can start from webbing, elastic tape, cutting, sewing, and buckle matching. Final packing or finished assembly can be discussed by project.
Does it have to use elastic webbing?
Not always, but elastic webbing is recommended for early testing because light stretch helps balance support and comfort.
Can color and buckle style be customized?
Yes. Please provide color references, buckle direction, quantity, and packing needs for sampling evaluation.
