Look at the product location first, then decide on the webbing material

Webbing has a wide range of uses, but what really affects the specifications is not "what material it is called", but where it is finally installed on the product. The shoulder strap depends on the load-bearing and comfort, the edge strap depends on the thickness of the main fabric and the corner, the phone lanyard depends on the feel and metal parts, and the suitcase buckle strap depends on the elastic recovery and buckle stability.

When making an inquiry, you can use "product + usage location" to describe it, such as "laptop bag handle", "pet harness front chest position", "inside suitcase cross buckle strap" or "outdoor tool gear cord". This is closer to mass production conditions than simply asking the price of a certain width.

School bags, backpacks, laptop bags and suitcases

Bag products usually do not use only one kind of tape material. The shoulder strap may need to be thick and wear-resistant, the handle should be folded and felt, the edge strap should match the thickness of the main fabric, and the zipper strap should pay attention to the end treatment and grip. The buckle strap inside the suitcase is another logic, often equipped with elastic straps, fixed straps and buckles.

School bags, backpacks Shoulder straps, handles, side compression straps, and external fixation straps all depend on the load-bearing, thickness, inner diameter of the buckle, and sewing folds.
laptop bag Handles, shoulder straps, hemming, and drawstrings often require a cleaner appearance, stable color difference, and comfortable feel.
Luggage interior buckle For internal cross-fixed straps, divider buckles, and luggage straps, confirm the elasticity, recovery rate, buckle size, and cutting length.

Pet harnesses, leashes, phone lanyards and ID lanyards

Both pet products and phone lanyards come into contact with the body or hands, so the feel is very important. The pet harness depends on the force direction, buckle position and sewing end; the leash depends on the tension and grip; the phone lanyard often chooses between flat webbing, round cords, metal hooks, adjustment buckles and connecting pieces.

Pet harnesses and leashes Width, thickness, buckle, D ring, adjustment buckle, sewing end, feel and tension should all be confirmed together.
Phone lanyards Flat Webbing, round cords, braided ropes, metal buckles, slide buckles, connecting pieces and end treatments will affect the appearance and feel of use.
ID card lanyard Evaluate width, printing, fasteners, breakaway fasteners and packaging methods by event, corporate identification or daily use.

Exercise puller strap, outdoor gear cord, gear hook and tool fixing

Sports and outdoor accessories are often subjected to repeated stresses and should not just look at their appearance. Exercise puller straps depend on the handle, D ring, tension, and folding and sewing; outdoor gear cords and gear hooks depend on load capacity, wear resistance, buckle size, and usage environment; tool fixing straps often take into account storage, disassembly and assembly speed, and end durability.

  • Hand puller straps and training grip straps: Confirm the grip structure, pulling force direction, folding sewing and hardware dimensions.
  • Outdoor gear cords and gear hooks: Confirm the flat webbing or round cord, hook, webbing loop, wear resistance and load-bearing requirements.
  • Tool bag straps and tool fixing straps: confirm the disassembly and assembly methods, buckles, length adjustment and end treatment.
  • Water bottle straps, cup holder straps, camera straps: Confirm the touch feel, load-bearing, color and appearance consistency.

Prepare these conditions first when making an inquiry

It doesn't matter if the specifications haven't been decided yet, you can provide photos, sketches or existing samples first. Woei Dah first determines the possible webbing materials and processing, and then discusses whether sampling, hardware or sewing assembly is needed.

Product use For example, pet harnesses, school bag shoulder straps, luggage straps, phone lanyards, and exercise puller straps.
Use location Is it mainly used for load-bearing, trimming, decoration, hanging, adjustment, fixation, or where it contacts the skin or hands?
Size and material Width, thickness, length, nylon, PP, polyester, cotton belt, elastic belt, round cord or temporarily undecided.
Accessories and Processing Fasteners, D rings, metal hooks, sliders, cutting, heat cutting, punching, sewing, printing or assembly.
Appearance and quantity Color, sample, color card, logo requirements, estimated quantity, whether to sampling, and expected delivery date.
Practical Note

If you only have photos of the product, you can send it first. Please try to photograph the width of the straps, buckles, seam ends, fastening positions, and overall product proportions; these details are more helpful than photographing a roll of tape alone.

FAQ

I don’t know the material, can I just provide the product?

Yes. By first providing the purpose of the product, usage location, expected width, photos or samples, you can usually determine whether to look at nylon, PP, polyester, cotton tape, elastic tape or round cord.

Can the same webbing be used as a backpack and a pet leash at the same time?

It is not recommended to just use appearance to see if they are the same. Backpacks, leashes, and outdoor hanging objects have different stress-bearing methods, buckle sliding, sewing folding, and feel requirements. The thickness, tension, and processing should be reconfirmed based on the location of the product.

Should I choose a flat webbing or a round cord for phone lanyard?

Flat webbing is easier to show brand colors and wider feel, while round cords are lighter and have obvious lines. In practice, it still depends on whether it comes into contact with the skin, whether an adjustment buckle is required, the weight of the metal parts, and the treatment of the ends.
