Harnesses, leashes, and collars have different conditions

The harness will be close to the pet's body. In addition to the tension, it also depends on the softness, thickness and whether the folded end will rub. The leash focuses on the grip, metal hook and stability when pulling; the collar depends on the sliding of the buckle, the adjustment range and the comfort of long-term wearing.

If there are harnesses, leashes, collars and out-and-out straps in the same series, the same set of colors and material directions can be used, but the specifications should still be confirmed separately according to location.

How to grasp width, thickness and feel?

Small pet supplies Usually, softer and lighter straps are needed to avoid the buckles and folds being too thick, which will affect the wearing comfort.
Medium and large pet supplies More attention will be paid to tensile strength, wear resistance, buckle strength and sewing ends, and the width should also match the product proportion.
On-the-go bags and stroller accessories It is often used for fixing, strapping or safety buckle positions. It is necessary to confirm whether it comes into contact with pets, whether it needs adjustment and quick disassembly and assembly.

Look at the buckle, D ring, metal hook and webbing together

Common pet products include buckles, adjustment buckles, D rings, metal hooks and plastic steel parts. If the inner diameter of the buckle does not match the width of the webbing, it will be too loose, too tight, or not adjusted smoothly; if the thickness of the webbing is too thick, it may not be easy to turn or the buckle will get stuck after being folded back.

  • Harness: Confirm the buckle position, adjustment buckle, D ring force direction and sewing reinforcement.
  • Leash: Confirm the weight of the metal hook, the fold of the handle, the pulling force requirements and the feel.
  • Collar: Confirm the buckle slide, hole position or adjustment method, and wearing comfort.
  • Outing supplies: Confirm stroller fixing straps, outing bag straps, storage straps and quick disassembly and assembly requirements.

The sewing end is the most likely place to get stuck during mass production.

After cutting, the webbing may need to be cut, folded, sewn, punched or assembled with hardware. It is usually not recommended to just look at the appearance of pet products. The sewing wire, stitch length, folding length and reinforcement method must be confirmed first. If you already have a sample, the photos should show the ends, buckles and sewing on the back.

If the product needs to be graded in different colors or sizes, the packaging method should also be stated in advance, such as single bagging, harness and leash packaging, or cartoning according to size and color code.

FAQ

Can the same kind of webbing be used for pet harnesses and leashes?

You can first use the same series of materials for evaluation, but the force direction, fit feel, and buckle position of the harness and leash are different, so you still need to confirm the width, thickness, tension, and sewing ends respectively.

Which buckles should be checked first for pet webbing?

Commonly used with buckles, adjustment buckles, D rings, metal hooks or plastic steel parts. When enquiring, it is recommended to provide the inner diameter, material, color and whether assembly is required.

Can I still make an inquiry without specifying the tensile strength specification?

You can first provide the pet size, product type, usage location, width, buckle and reference photos, and then discuss whether tensile testing or enhanced sewing is needed based on the purpose.
